The Centralist Constitution of 1843

Grove: 85a
In 1843 the engraver Luciano Rovira, a student of Gordillo, designed a very interesting medal to commemorate the centralist constitution of 1843 that was in force for three years. On the obverse is the effigy of a woman representing Liberty, seated with a sceptre in her left hand and, under her right arm, some engraved tablets on which the word "LEY" is read. On the reverse is the legend JURA DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN MEXICANA EN 1843 framed by laurel leaves.
