Issue attributed to the Hacienda de San Mateo Valparaíso, property of the Counts of San Mateo, built between 1736 and, 1739, under the title of property of Fernando Antonio de la Campa y Cos, Spanish infantry colonel who was one of the three persons who received a noble title, granted by King Philip V. The Counts owned 33 haciendas and, 22 chapels throughout northern Mexico, among them the most important hacienda and the Count's favorite was San Mateo de Valparaíso, southeast of Zacatecas, which became his habitual residence and, from where his title got its name.
